Toms River Woman Sentenced In Roommate's Shower Rod, Tape Dispenser Killing: Prosecutors
A Toms River woman will spend at least eight years in prison after admitting to her role in the death of her roommate, a former Manchester High School janitor, authorities said. Mary Carbone, 60, was sentenced on Friday, Sept. 13 to ten years in state prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. She must serve eight-and-a-half years before she's eligible for parole under the No Early Release Act. Carbone pleaded guilty on Monday, July 8 to aggravated manslaughter. Man Found Dead On Jersey Shore Beach, Police Investigating
A man was found dead on a beach in Cape May County, authorities said. Wildwood Crest police responded to the beach near Myrtle Road at around 6:20 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, the department said in a news release. The 911 caller was performing CPR on the unconscious man when police arrived. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of his death was pending an autopsy. A woman was found dead in an Atlantic City apartment, authorities said. Atlantic City police discovered 29-year-old Janessa Morgan's body inside a second-floor apartment at 3 South Raleigh Avenue at around 10:09 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release on Thursday, June 13.
