Carriage Horse Likely Died From Cardiac Event While Pulling Cape May Tourists, Necropsy Says
A horse that died while pulling a carriage of tourists in Cape May was likely killed by cardiac arrest or a blood clot, according to a necropsy. An 18-year-old Percheron gelding named Ice died suddenly "in a very public setting" on Thursday, June 27, the Cape May Carriage Company said in a Facebook post. A 32-year-old woman from Philadelphia has been charged with causing the death of her 10-month-old son through exposure to an illicit veterinary drug in South Jersey, authorities said. Vanessa Hampton, of the Frankford section of Philadelphia, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and drug possession, according to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L.
