A branch of a tree that had fallen on tracks broke through a New Jersey Transit train's windshield, killing the operator in Burlington County, officials said. The National Transportation Safety Board released its preliminary investigation into the Thursday, Oct. 15 crash. A train operator was killed and multiple others hurt after a tree fell on an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 14 in Burlington County. The incident happened around 6 a.m. on the River LINE train, which had been heading north from Trenton when it struck a tree south of the Roebling Station in Mansfield Township, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. Five people were injured when a New Jersey Transit light rail train crashed into a truck in Burlington Township, officials said. A person was hospitalized after a bus caught fire on the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County, authorities said. Troopers responded to the fire in Wall Township at 9:23 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, according to a state police spokesperson.
