Alfred Mottola II, 66, died in the crash on Route 152 near the Somers Point border, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to the scene at around 8:13 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19.

Investigators said Mottola was heading west on a 2023 Harley-Davidson motorcycle near Graef Boat Yard when he crossed the center line into the eastbound lane. His motorcycle crashed head-on with an oncoming 2010 Nissan Rogue.

Mottola was pronounced dead at the scene. A 2020 Porsche Cayenne was also involved in the crash as it traveled westbound.

The 17-year-old Glassboro girl who drove the Nissan remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation. She had a minor injury but declined medical attention from Egg Harbor Township paramedics.

The driver and passenger of the Porsche weren't injured. Longport Boulevard was closed for about five hours during the investigation and cleanup.

Longport and Somers Point police responded to the scene, along with the state Department of Transportation and Somers Point firefighters.
