A Brooklyn man died after crashing his dirt bike at a popular site at the Jersey Shore where police say trespassing is illegal. Joseph W. Maffia, 28, was riding a blue 2024 Yamaha YZ450F when he hit the crest of a hill and dropped ten feet into a sand embankment at ASARCO, or Heritage Minerals, in Manchester Township, ejecting him from the bike, just before noon on Saturday, March 15, police said. Police have released the identity of the pedestrian struck and killed by a pickup truck outside of his Paramus home on Wednesday night, Jan. 22. Eduardo Cinca, 82, was trying to cross Farview Avenue when he was struck by a 2019 Dodge Ram heading north around 6:50 p.m., Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. A husky is lucky to be alive after he was rescued after falling through the ice in Chester on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
