Sinkhole Swallows Car, Tractor Trailer After Water Main Breaks In Wayne
A water main eruption Thursday, Jan 16 in Wayne caused the roadway to buckle and left a tractor-trailer and car stranded in large craters, police said. The North Jersey Water Commission water main on Demarest Drive, an industrial area of the township, broke around 5:13 p.m., according to Detective Capt. Dan Daly of the Wayne Police Department. Wayne officers closed Demarest Drive to additional traffic. Water Main Break Opens Gaping Hole Off Route 208
A water main break Friday afternoon closed the entrance and exit ramps at a Route 208 interchange in Fair Lawn. The ramps along northbound Route 208 at Berdan Avenue off Plaza Road were affected after the road buckled under the water pressure, leaving a gaping hole, shortly after lunchtime Sept. 8. No vehicle damage or incidents were reported as a result. However, many residents reported brown water coming out of their taps. A water main break in Paramus on Thursday flooded part of Route 4 and closed a busy exit ramp. Construction crews working near the exit ramp for Paramus Road off the westbound highway accidentally punctured the 16-inch main shortly before noon Aug. 17. ALERT: Water Main Break Closes Major Roadway Near Route 3
A 12-inch water main break temporarily closed a major thoroughfare near Route 3 in Clifton. "Customers in the immediate area may experience low pressure [and] discolored or no water while repairs are made," Bryan Frierson of the Passaic Valley Water Commission said shortly after 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16. A massive water main break on the Newark and Belleville border Tuesday, Aug. 9 had lingering impacts as of Wednesday. Major Water Main Break Causes ‘Significant’ Damages, Delays In Hanover
A Wednesday afternoon water main break has caused significant delays in Hanover, police said. The break was reported on Whippany Road near Woodfield Drive and has caused “extensive” damages to the southbound lanes, Hanover Police said Wednesday afternoon. : Emergency Construction Shuts Route 10 Both Ways In Denville
Route 10 will be closed in either direction Friday as a result of a water main break in Denville. On the eastbound side, the roadway is closed between Franklin Road and Mount Pleasant Turnpike, and one lane on the westbound side will be closed, local police said. Police did not have a timeline on the completion of emergency construction.

Mall At Short Hills Evacuated Due To Water Main Break
The Mall at Short Hills was evacuated Monday afternoon due to a water main break underneath the sprawling shopping complex, the business said in a statement. The mall also said it was "assessing" the situation and may reopen later today, but in a subsequent statement said it would remain closed Monday. The mall is expected to reopen on time Tuesday. Car Crashes In Parsippany Sinkhole Caused By Water Main Break, Street Closed For Repairs
Repairs to a morning water main break in Parsippany closed local streets Sunday. The break on Baldwin Road between Route 46 East and Troy Road caused a sinkhole, which was only reported after a vehicle crashed, police said. No one was injured. Starbucks, the PAL and other local businesses were without water.
