Five of the victims in a fiery Newark crash that killed six people earlier this month have been identified, authorities said.
At 10:47 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, a vehicle carrying six people was traveling on Raymond Boulevard toward the Route 1&9 southbound on-ramp, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said. The vehicle then veered off the roadway, went airborne, and struck a support column for the Pulaski Skyway, Stephens said.

A 96-year-old former nun was struck and killed by a vehicle last week in Sussex County, police said.
Aurora Marcos Travis, of Newton, died on Thursday, June 27, after being struck by a 25-year-old driver who failed to yield as she crossed Madison Street in a marked crosswalk, local police said.
The driver had been turning left from Elm Street around 11 a.m., Newton police said. Travis was taken to Newton Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, while the driver was issued a summons for failure to yield, police said.

Two people died and another two were injured in a crash involving a box truck Sunday in Burlington County, according to New Jersey State Police.
Tyshaun Carter, 24, was heading south on Route 628 in a BMW 325xi when he struck a box truck turning left out of a driveway around 4:15 a.m. in Springfield, NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said. The vehicle struck a utility pole and a tunnel carrying a drain under the road.
