7 Injured After Van Crashes Into Police Car On Route 78: Njsp Seven people were hospitalized after a van crashed into a police car on Route 78 in Hunterdon County on Sunday, Jan. 26, authorities said. At 5:42 a.m., a Ford transit van was traveling eastbound in the center lane on Route 78 in Clinton Township while an unoccupied marked troop car with its emergency lights activated was parked diverting traffic due to a prior crash, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Man Killed In Route 31 Crash After Car Overturns In Ditch: Police A 56-year-old Columbia resident was killed in a car crash on Route 31 in Warren County on the morning of Monday, Oct. 14, authorities said. At 5:43 a.m., officers responded to the car crash where they found a Chevy Avalanche had overturned, Washington Township police said. A preliminary investigation revealed the Chevy was traveling southbound on Route 31 north when it left the roadway, striking the guardrail and bridge abutment before rolling over into a ditch, police said. The driver of the Chevy was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Route 31 was closed for three and a half hours…

1 Driver Dead, Another Hospitalized In Route 202 Crash One driver was killed an another hospitalized in a Route 202 crash Tuesday morning in Somerset County, authorities said. The crash occurred on the northbound side of the highway at North Branch River Road -- but blocked both lanes of travel -- around 10:50 a.m., Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said. Both drivers were taken to the hospital where 61-year-old Henry J. Herschell Jr., of Branchburg, was pronounced dead.
