Teaneck District Pays $50,000 To Settle Special Ed Teacher's Sexual Harassment Suit
The Teaneck school district confidentially paid $50,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by a former special education teacher who said she was fired after refusing the then-principal’s sexual advances, records show. Whittier Elementary School Principal Pedro H. Valdes III – now the principal of Teaneck High School -- engaged in “overly flirtatious” behavior that was “disturbing and intimidating at best," Grace Kenny charged in a sexual discrimination lawsuit. Rather than go to trial, district officials settled the case and agreed, along with Kenny, to keep the terms of the deal confidential. Set…

Authorities: Infamous ‘James Bond Gang’ Of Burglars Is Back In NJ
They’re the criminal version of such musical oldies acts as the Temptations and Quiet Riot. The infamous James Bond Gang of burglars is back in several New Jersey counties, authorities say – only without their original members. It was in the mid-1990s that David Kirkland hooked up with Teaneck High School buddy Terence Lawton, who owned a detailing shop in Englewood where he created a car that gave the founding burglary crew its nickname. Pricey homes in Paramus, Englewood Cliffs and elsewhere yielded the gang an average of $30,000 in cash and valuables during what investigators said were …

The victim told police he was attacked by “a lone assailant” as he walked on West Forest Avenue toward Teaneck sometime between 1-2 a.m., the deputy chief said.
