A 57-year-old private contractor shot and killed his 58-year-old wife and teen son before turning the gun on himself in Morris County, authorities said.

A Pennsylvania man is behind bars on allegations that he burglarized half a dozen Morris County businesses — including a retail and convenience store, restaurant, and three gas stations — over the course of three months, authorities announced.
Kenneth K. Cook, 48, was charged with various counts of theft, burglary, criminal mischief, and conspiracy, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said in a release with local officials on Tuesday, June 7.

Feds Bust North Jersey Man On Child Porn Charges
A Morris County man was arrested by federal agents Monday on child porn trafficking charges, authorities said.
Igor Michael Terrero, 49, of Succasunna, shared more than 85 media files -- including "images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children" -- from Aug. 30, 2021, through April 20, 2022, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Jessica S. Allen allowed Terrero's release on a $100,000 unsecured bond with home detention and electronic monitoring during a first appearance via video conference, Sellinger said.

Police: Morris County Man Who Attempted To Steal Idling Car Crashes On Route 80, Flees
A Morris County man attempting to steal a running car from a local parking lot later crashed on Rt. 80 and fled from police, authorities said.
Blaise Wiget, 32, entered and drove away in a vehicle that had been left idling in the parking lot of a business in Franklin on Feb. 6, borough police said.
Wiget, of Succasunna, later crashed on Route 80 east in Rockaway Township and ran from the scene, authorities said.
A follow-up investigation linked Wiget to the crash and found that he had stolen the car, police said.

Police: Driver Charged After Truck Hits Hackettstown Overpass, Overturns
The driver of a box truck was charged Wednesday after his vehicle struck a Hackettstown underpass, overturned and started leaking diesel fluid, authorities said.
Steven Zemanek, 31, was heading south on Grand Avenue in the 2012 truck when he hit the underpass and overturned just before 2:15 p.m., Hackettstown police said.
Zemanek, of Succasunna, was able to get out of the truck, which was two feet and one inch taller than the height of the underpass, police said.

DressBarn, the women's clothing chain, is closing all 650 of its stores after being in business for nearly 60 years.
Parent company Ascena Retail Group based in Mahwah said it plans to focus on its more profitable brands, such as Ann Taylor and Lane Bryant.
DressBarn CFO Steven Taylor said the chain "has not been operating at an acceptable level of profitability in today’s retail environment.”
