Hoboken police turned to the public for help investigating a carjacking in which the victim was pistol-whipped and threatened with a knife. Multiple masked robbers pulled the victim from his 2008 Honda Accord on Sinatra Drive near Stevens Tech and demanded his cell phone shortly after 11:30 p.m. Jan. 15, city police said. A 2.5-acre waterfront park project totaling $230 will soon get underway in Hoboken’s north end. The project marks Hoboken’s first large-scale riverfront park addition since the 2007 establishment of Maxwell Place Park. Design plans include the construction of a concealed flood wall built into the park at Weehawken Cove, as well as additional work on the Sinatra Drive Project and its acquisition of the Union Dry Dock site, according to FBW.org. Body Pulled From Hudson River After Good Samaritan Jumped In To Help: Police
A man's body was pulled from the Hudson River in Hoboken after a Good Samaritan tried rescuing him, authorities said. Officers responding to the scene around 8 p.m. saw the 52-year-old man floating face-down, and a 63-year-old man who had been trying to help him climbing out, city police said in a tweet. Firefighters pulled the victim, a Jersey City resident, from the water at 7th street and Sinatra drive, and he was pronounced dead. The incident was not considered suspicious in nature, police said.

: Body Found In Hudson Is Missing Md. Man, Second Body Also Recovered
UPDATE: The man retrieved from the Hudson River Wednesday afternoon was identified Thursday as a Baltimore man who has been missing since May 4. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that a body was retrieved from the Hudson River in Hoboken Wednesday afternoon. The person was identified only as a male and was found at Pier A near Sinatra Drive. On Monday, police in Jersey City retrieved another body from the river, at Exchange Place. Investigations into both incidents were continuing Thursday morning.
