A New Jersey man was killed, and three passengers — his wife, son, and his son's girlfriend — were critically injured when a car lost control and was struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township, PA, Pennsylvania State Police announced in a press release on Monday, Dec. 16.
The crash happened at mile marker 286.6 westbound around 8:39 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, during hazardous road conditions, troopers said.

Karin Johnson, a 75-year-old Cedar Grove resident, was killed on Tuesday, July 9, after being struck by a vehicle walking on Route 23, authorities said.
Born in Kearny, Johnson was raised in Cedar Grove, graduating from Cedar Grove High School in 1967, according to her obituary on the Shooks Cedar Grove Funeral Home website. Johnson, who worked as an acupuncturist, enjoyed being in nature and bringing people together, her obituary reads.

Beloved Wayne native Louis R. Tor died in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Friday, Nov. 4. He was 39.
Born in Pompton Plains, Louis was raised in Wayne before graduating from Wayne Valley High School in 2001, his obituary and social media pages say.
