The operations manager of a Virginia hotel was charged with first-degree drug possession after Bergen County prosecutor’s detectives said they caught him with 50 pounds of pot during a Route 80 traffic stop. Ryan Barnes, 45, who was traveling alone, had “inconsistencies in his story” after Narcotics Task Force investigators stopped his vehicle on the westbound highway in Bogota on Tuesday, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Mark Musella said. Tractor Trailer Crash Downs Pole, Closes Route 46 In Parsippany
All lanes were closed on Route 46 due to a tractor trailer crash Monday afternoon in Parsippany. As of 2:20 p.m., all traffic was being diverted to Route 80 from Edwards Road. Responders were working to clear wires and a downed pole from the eastbound side of the roadway.

Two Hospitalized In Route 17 Pileup
UPDATE: A chain-reaction crash on Route 17 Friday afternoon sent two people to the hospital. Taken to Hackensack University Medical Center were two drivers -- one 32 out of Clifton, the other 57 out of North Arlington -- following the crash on the northbound highway in Hasbrouck Heights shortly after noon. A trash-hauling tractor-trailer tipped Friday on the Route 46 ramp to the New Jersey Turnpike and Route 80 in Ridgefield Park. The driver escaped serious injury, responders said. Tractor-Trailer Crash Blocks Route 80 Ramp
A tractor-trailer jackknifed Monday on a busy Route 80 ramp headed toward the New Jersey Turnpike. No injuries were reported in the mishap on the Ridgefield Park ramp from the eastbound highway onto southbound Route 95 shortly before 1 p.m., responders said. A fuel leak was cleaned up before the rig was righted and removed. Firefighters and New Jersey State Police were among the responders.

One Dead, Two Injured In Crash Off Route 80
Two men remained hospitalized following a Route 80 crash that killed an 18-year-old Paterson man Sunday night. Diego Guzman and another passenger were thrown from a car that veered off the westbound highway and rolled down an embankment through a bank of trees above Route 19, New Jersey State Police said. Jack-Knifed Tractor-Trailer Jumps Median On Route 80
A tractor-tractor jackknifed and jumped the median on Route 80 in Paterson overnight Saturday. The mishap left the trailer on on side of the highway and part of the rig on the other part near westbound Exit 58 around midnight. Two lanes were temporarily closed on the eastbound side and one on the westbound. An ambulance took the driver to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. Firefighters summoned a hazardous materials unit to tend to a fuel spill.

Mobile Crane Goes Up In Flames On Route 80, Fire Truck Involved In Crash
Flames destroyed a mobile crane Thursday afternoon off Route 80 in Totowa, while a Wayne fire truck headed to the scene was involved in a minor crash. Tractor-Trailer Tips On Route 80 Turnpike Exit
A tractor-trailer toting pallets of peat moss tipped Sunday afternoon while exiting eastbound Route 80 in Teaneck. The trailer toppled at Exit 68 to southbound Route 95 around 12:30 p.m. Responders included NJ State Police, Teaneck firefighters and others. There was no immediate word on injuries.
