At 7:07 p.m., a GMC SUV was traveling eastbound on Route 78 in Union Township when the driver lost control, ran off the roadway and overturned, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. A 60-year-old Orange man has been missing since he worked a shift at Whole Foods Market on Sunday, April 21. Rousier Romain did not return home after he left his shift abruptly at the Whole Foods in Vauxhall, Township of Union police said. Romaine left Whole Foods at 3:40 p.m. and was last seen on foot in the parking lot near the fence along the edge of Route 78, adjacent to the property, police said. A 48-year-old Pennsylvania man was seriously injured in a crash on Route 78 in New Jersey overnight, police said. The Coplay driver lost control in Clinton Township around 3:50 a.m. Sunday, March 31 and ran off the roadway to the right, hitting a guardrail near on the westbound side, New Jersey State Police said. A 64-year-old New York driver was killed in a crash on Route 78 in Warren County, New Jersey on Sunday, March 10, authorities said. At 5:43 p.m., Carmen Berretta, of Albany, NY, collided with another vehicle on Route 78 eastbound in Pohatcong Township, the Lehigh County, PA Coroner's Office said. Berretta was taken to St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem, PA where he died of his injuries at 10:04 p.m., the coroner's office said. The coroner's office and New Jersey State Police are investigating the crash.

Two people were taken to a local hospital after a vehicle flipped onto its roof on Route 78 in Hunterdon County Sunday morning, Sept. 17, responders said. The Whitehouse Rescue Squad responded to the crash on the westbound side in Readington and found the vehicle upside-down with one occupant still trapped inside. A motorist died during a medical emergency that resulted in a crash in Hunterdon County, authorities said. New Jersey State troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 78 westbound near milepost 20.2 in Lebanon Borough at 2:14 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16.
