Update (Photos): Driver 79, Plows Sedan Into Fair Lawn Bakery No one was seriously injured when a sedan plowed into a Fair Lawn bakery late Thursday morning, authorities said. The Lexus -- driven by a 79-year-old Fair Lawn woman -- slammed through the front of Zadies Kosher Bake Shop in a strip mall on Fair Lawn Avenue (Route 208) at Chandler Drive around 11 a.m. The driver "was pulling into a parking spot and hit the gas instead of the brake, crashing through the pillar in front of her and then through the storefront," Sgt.Sean Macys said. Glen Rock Homes Temporarily Evacuated, Roads Closed After Work Crew Ruptures Gas Main Two dozen residents in the immediate area had to leave their homes after a Glen Rock DPW crew ruptured a gas line while doing work on a sidewalk ramp Wednesday morning. Officials offered shelter at Borough Hall while repairs were done at the corner of Main Street and Argyle Road following the mishap just after 9:30 a.m. Police transported several residents who didn't have vehicles, Chief Dean Ackermann said.  The De Boer Drive from northbound Route 208 was temporarily closed. Lower Main Street, Argyle Road and Southboro Lane were also temporarily blocked off. Another Tractor-Trailer Tips On Route 287, Jamming Morning Commute A tractor-trailer rollover jammed northbound Route 287 traffic in Oakland early Tuesday. The rig rolled off the road, with the tractor rolling into the woods and the trailer crushing the guardrail and splitting open near the exit for Route 208 around 4:30 a.m., responders said. The 48-year-old driver from Wilmington, DE, who climbed out, complained of a back injury but refused treatment, they said. The left and center lanes were reopened at Skyline Drive several hours later. Traffic on the southbound side was slowed. Detour routes were clogged, as well.

They also included a 32-year-old West Nyack man charged with DWI just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Officer Matthew Geyer made that arrest, as well as one just before 7:30 a.m. Saturday of a 29-year-old Clifton man on marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession charges. Moments after that one, Sgt. The "sporty" sedan sustained heavy front-end damage after rear-ending the other vehicle near the Maple Avenue exit of the southbound highway just before 3:30 p.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said. Its direction of travel after the crash was unknown, he said. The driver and passenger reported neck pain, Metzler said, adding that a BLS unit was dispatched. Long Drive From Home: Franklin Lakes Police Bust Three In Route 208 Heroin, Oxy Stop It’s more than an hour and a half drive to Paterson from the homes of a Pennsylvania trio whom Franklin Lakes police said they caught with heroin, Oxycodone and hypodermic needles during a traffic stop. Officer David Blum pulled their car over on Route 208 just after 12:30 a.m. Monday, Capt. John Bakelaar said. Arrested, charged with drug counts and released pending court hearings were Christopher Scurto, 26, of Greeley, Alissa Winters, 26, of Newfoundland and Sabrina Ray, 41, of Greentown.
