A Hackensack smoker on home oxygen suffered burns on her chest and face after her cigarette ignited an apartment fire, authorities said. The 50-something victim was alert when she was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center following Wednesday's mishap at the Quail Heights Apartments on Prospect Avenue, city Fire Capt. Sleeping Smoker Caused Hackettstown House Fire, Police Say
The Tuesday night fire that left a Hackettstown home uninhabitable was caused by a man who fell asleep while smoking a cigarette, authorities determined. Man Rescued From Second Floor In ‘Quick, Aggressive’ Hunterdon County Basement Fire
Fire crews battling heavy smoke successfully rescued a man trapped on the second floor during a house fire in Hunterdon County Friday morning, authorities said. The blaze broke out just after 7 a.m. in the basement of 108 Bertron Road in Flemington, Three Bridges Volunteer Fire Company officials said.
