Fort Lee police chased down a local supermarket employee who they said broke into a car before dawn Tuesday. Responding to a resident’s 5:15 a.m. call, Sgt. Vassilios Triantafillou spotted Michael A. Cokley, a 28-year-old Key Food stock clerk, in the area of Lemoine Avenue and Bruce Reynolds Boulevard. Seeing the sergeant get out of his car, Cokley ran, Capt. Ricky Mirkovic said. Paterson police captured an ex-con moments after he robbed two different victims with a loaded handgun, authorities said. Officers James Favia and Isiah Mills were responding to the first holdup just after 6 a.m. Saturday when a call of another came in, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said. An overnight police chase of a stolen SUV began in Bogota before dawn Thursday and ended in Fort Lee with a 15-year-old boy from Teaneck and two adults and two teens from Massachusetts in custody. Authorities charged a 19-year-old Paterson man with shooting a street robbery victim as he tried to flee. Phillip E.
