The body of a 66-year-old man was found face down in a grassy area of a New Jersey town on Monday, April 8, police said. The identified Eves Drive resident was found by pedestrians "down and unresponsive" in the grass between the Shell gas station and Bank of America along Amwell Road around 4:25 p.m. in Hillsborough Township, local police said. Former Essex County Chief Of Detectives Accidentally Shoots Himself: Prosecutor
Authorities are investigating after Anthony Ambrose, the former chief of detectives for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, accidentally shot himself on Friday, March 22. The incident occurred at a private office complex in Cedar Grove, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said. He was treated and released at a nearby hospital for a non-life-threatening wound, Stephens said. Ambrose joined the Newark Police Department in 1986 and became chief in 1999. Fast-working firefighters were able extinguish a blaze in a Hillsborough garage early Monday, March 25, authorities said. At 4:55 a.m., officers responded to 201 Woods Rd. and found a detached garage on the property fully engulfed in flames and heavy smoke, Hillsborough Township Police said. Garfield Garage Blaze Doused
Garfield firefighters doused a Sunday morning garage blaze. It was going pretty good when they got to the March 10 fire, but they contained it to the one-story two-car garage behind a Market Street home. No injuries were reported. NJ Infant Killed By Family Dog: Prosecutor
An infant is dead after being mauled by the family dog in Central Jersey, authorities said. Police were called to a Mereline Avenue home in Avenel around 6:15 a.m. Saturday, March 9, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Woodbridge Police Department Director Robert Hubner said. Officers found the mother and baby, who sustained serious injuries from the dog. The baby was pronounced dead on scene while the mother and father were transported to the hospital for treatment. Six people were injured in a two-car crash in Warren County on the afternoon of Saturday, March 2, authorities said. State police responded to County Road 521 North in Hope Township for a crash between a Honda and a Subaru just after 3 p.m., Troy McNair, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. No injuries were reported in the three-alarm blaze, which ignited behind the Hanjin warehouse on Railroad Avenue near Pleasantview Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday, March 3. π¨π£πππ§π: An eyewitness report of a child climbing into the trunk of a woman's car over the weekend in the Pascack Valley area of Bergen County was at least partially true, it turns out.
