A 65-year-old Sparta man was arrested and charged after he stole a generator and gas can during setup for a July 4 parade, authorities said. At 7:46 a.m., officers responded to the Mohawk Avenue school for a report of a theft and met with the Sparta Elks Club, who said their generator and 5-gallon gas can had been stolen, Sparta police said in a release. A Brooklyn man was arrested and charged in Denville on Wednesday, July 3, for having counterfeit money, police said. Officers responded to a business on Broadway on a report of a man, Marquise Fleming, 31, attempting to make a purchase with a fraudulent $100 bill, Denville police said in a release. Police in Blairstown are looking for a man wanted for a stabbing on Tuesday, June 2, authorities said. The suspect stabbed another man on Meadow Cliff Lane on a horse farm in Hardwick Township, Blairstown police said.
