A 35-year-old Saddle Brook resident was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a fatal overdose in Pequannock Township in 2021, authorities said.
David Pezak was sentenced on Friday, Jan. 12, after pleading guilty to strict lability for a drug induced death back in December, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Pequannock Police Chief Daniel Comune said.

Lauren Gaeta, a Toms River resident died on Friday, Nov. 17 at the age of 59, according to her obituary.
A Totowa native who was born in Pequannock Township, Gaeta moved to Toms River three years ago, her obituary reads. She loved watching people on the boardwalk, shopping at flea markets and spending time with her family, according to her obituary.

Arson: Morris County Woman Started Fire That Killed Cat For Insurance Claim, Prosecutor Says
A 46-year-old Morris County woman was accused of starting a fire that destroyed a home and killed a cat for insurance purposes, authorities announced Tuesday.
Pamela Hankin, of Boonton, was charged with aggravated arson, insurance fraud, endangerment, and animal cruelty, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said in a joint release with Chief of Detectives Christoph K. Kimker, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, and Pequannock Township Police Chief Daniel Comune.

Support is surging for the Sussex County family of Cameron Joseph Myers, who died suddenly at just two years old.
