Fair Lawn Girl, 3, Struck By SUV
A 3-year-old Fair Lawn girl walking hand-in-hand with her mom was struck Monday afternoon by an SUV driven by a 79-year-old Ridgewood woman, police said. The girl was knocked about 10 feet but wasn’t seriously injured after being struck on Plaza Road around 2:50 p.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said. The mother, 38, wasn’t injured, Metzler said. Both were in the crosswalk when they were struck by the 2019 Chevy, which was making a left turn from Fair Lawn Avenue west onto Plaza Road south when it struck the child, the sergeant said. Pedestrian Stable Days After Jefferson Hit-Run
Police have identified the driver of a vehicle that fled after hitting a pedestrian in Jefferson, authorities said. A 25-year-old man was walking near 619 Route 15 southbound when he was struck by the car Sunday around 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Jefferson Township police said. The man, who was found on the side of the road with head and upper body injuries, was flown to Morristown Medical Center and is in stable condition. An 83-year-old Wayne accountant was struck and killed as he crossed a township road Tuesday night, authorities confirmed. Stuart Kahlenberg, a practicing CPA, was struck around 6:40 p.m. while crossing Hamburg Turnpike near Mountain Ridge Drive, they said. A Saddle Brook man was struck crossing Route 46 Monday afternoon, authorities said. A 57-year-old Wyckoff resident was hospitalized with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening after being struck by a car Thursday night, authorities said. A driver whose car struck a toddler in downtown Paterson eluded pursuing police on busy city streets Thursday afternoon before abandoning the vehicle, authorities said. Two Englewood pedestrians were struck Friday by vehicles only three blocks and barely 45 minutes apart, authorities said.
