The Parsippany community is rallying around the Sheehan family after they lost everything in a house fire on the early morning of Saturday, Jan. 20, according to a fundraiser. At 4:30 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to Stafford Terrace for a report of a garage fire, the Parsippany Troy-Hills Fire District 6 said on Facebook. Brush Fire Backs Up Route 287 In Morris County
A Friday morning brush fire was causing traffic delays on Route 287 in Morris County, authorities said. The fire broke out in the southbound lanes south of exit 40 to Route 511 in Parsippany shortly before 9:45 a.m., according to 511NJ. Fire crews in Parsippany and Whippany, as well as the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, were working to douse the blaze, initial reports said. Morris County Travelodge Hotel Evacuated Following Balcony Collapse, Police Say
A Travelodge hotel in Morris County was evacuated Tuesday morning after a balcony collapsed, authorities said. The Parsippany District 5 Fire Department was called to the hotel just after 10:20 a.m. and confirmed that a balcony on the first floor of the north-facing side had collapsed. Initial reports corroborated by Parsippany Focus stated that the incident occurred at the Travelodge on Route 46 East. Trapped Victim Extricated Following 2-Car Crash At Parsippany Intersection
A trapped victim had to be extricated by emergency crews following a two-car crash at an intersection in Parsippany, authorities said. The Parsippany District 5 Fire Department responded to the crash at Vail Road and North Beverwyck Road just before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13. Numerous fire crews throughout Morris County helped to douse a Tuesday afternoon blaze that broke out on the second-floor balcony of a multi-family home. The Boonton Fire Department responded to the call and requested a second alarm after observing flames billowing from the balcony of the two-story brick building in Boonton around 2:50 p.m., the department said. 330-Gallon Acid Spill Sends Sewer Plant Worker, Police Officer To Hospital
A Parsippany sewer plant worker and responding police officer were hospitalized following a chemical spill Thursday, authorities said. Peroxyacetic acid -- which is highly corrosive -- leaked from a faulty valve on a 330-gallon storage container at the Edwards Road facility around 2 p.m., Parsippany Police Sgt. Brian Conover said.
