: Drowning Child Rescued From Round Valley Reservoir, 2nd Swimmer Found Safe, Police Say
Lifeguards at a Hunterdon County reservoir rescued a girl from the water Tuesday afternoon, and a man witnesses say went in to help was later found safely ashore, state police confirmed. The girl was rescued from the water at Round Valley Reservoir in Lebanon with help from lifeguards and her mother around 4 p.m., NJSP Trooper Lawrence Peele told Daily Voice. Carteret Station Marine Bureau troopers initiated a search with South Branch Emergency Services after witnesses stated that a Hispanic man had entered the water to help the girl but never resurfaced, authorities said. State Police: Tractor-Trailer Veers Off Route 80, Slams Into Guardrail
A tractor-trailer veered off Route 80 westbound and slammed into a guardrail, causing delays in Morris County early Tuesday morning, state police said. The trailer ran off the left side of the highway and hit the guardrail near milepost 23.8 in Mount Olive Township just after 1:40 a.m., NJSP Trooper Lawrence Peele told Daily Voice. All lanes have reopened following the crash, which remains under investigation, Peele said. No injuries were reported.

State Police: Volkswagen Driver Airlifted In Route 80 Crash With Tractor-Trailer
A Volkswagen driver was airlifted in a crash on Route 80 westbound in Warren County Wednesday morning, state police said. The driver of a Volkswagen sedan crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer near milepost 2 in Knowlton Township just after 10 a.m., NJSP Trooper Lawrence Peele told Daily Voice. The Volkswagen driver was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, while the tractor-trailer driver was uninjured, Peele said. The westbound lanes were shut down following the crash, which remained under investigation, Peele said.
