A 3-year-old was found unharmed in Jersey City after an AMBER alert was issued out of Newark on Tuesday, Oct. 31. At 8:15 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Wilson Avenue after a vehicle was carjacked with the child left inside, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. At 10:30 a.m., police found the vehicle in Jersey City with the child inside and unharmed, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation.

Two Newark Officers Stabbed During Domestic Violence Call
A pair of Newark police officers were hospitalized Thursday, Jan. 5 after being stabbed by a man while responding to a domestic violence incident, authorities said. The unidentified officers were called to a home on the 600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive around 4:45 p.m., when a suspect stabbed the officers, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The officers were rushed to University Hospital for treatment and were reportedly in stable condition. The suspect was arrested at the scene without further incident. The incident remains under investigation.

Newark police seek the public’s help in locating a 31-year-old man who is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting, authorities said. A report of shots fired placed a Newark school on lockdown Friday, Nov. 4, authorities said. The call came in just before 3 p.m., near the Louise A. Spencer Elementary school on the 100 block of Muhammad Ali Avenue, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. No victims were located and no injuries have been reported. NJ School Counselor Brought Boy Into Office & Touched His Private Parts: Prosecutor
A 31-year-old school counselor from New Jersey has been accused of sexually assaulting a male student, authorities said. James D. Rone-Lewis brought the student into his office at Avon Avenue Elementary School in Newark on or about Oct. 21, and touched his penis, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said. He was released on pretrial monitoring pending disposition of the charges. Rone-Lews was suspended without pay by the school and is barred from any contact with the victim or the school.
