Man Gets Five Years For Possessing Ghost Guns: Morris County Prosecutor
A 34-year old Warren County man was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday, Sept. 13 after pleading guilty to possessing ghost guns, authorities said. Joseph Palumbo Jr., a Columbia resident, carried out the illegal manufacture and sale of ghost guns between December 2023 and February 2024, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood said. He was originally apprehended in February during a traffic shop. Palumbo Jr. sold the guns, the majority of which were assault firearms, in Morris and Warren Counties, authorities said. Charges have been filed against a 41-year-old man who police say was going 90 mph before a crash that killed an 18-year-old pre-med student in Morris County, officials announced. Gerald Veneziano, of Bellville, had numerous open alcohol containers in the vicinity of his Chevrolet Silverado following the accident that killed 18-year-old Jacob Davis in Flanders Friday, May 31, Morris County Acting Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood said. More than $256,000 in cash and a slew of drugs were seized as a pair of accused dealers were hit with distribution and money laundering charges, authorities in Morris County announced Wednesday, June 28 said.
