Thousands of JCP&L customers in Hunterdon and Morris Counties were without power on Tuesday, Oct. 25. A Madison police officer and a passerby nurse worked together to save the life of a man who had collapsed on the sidewalk and gone into cardiac arrest Saturday afternoon. Madison Police Patrolman Patrick Strafaci responded “within seconds” to the area of Main Street near Station Road after a caller stated that a man was lying unresponsive on the sidewalk around 12:10 p.m., authorities said. Police in Morris County were at the scene “within seconds” to save the life of a man who went into cardiac arrest at a local high school last week, authorities said. A trio of Madison police officers jumped to action to save a 61-year-old construction worker who stopped breathing Saturday, authorities said. Police were called to Orchard Street after the man went unconscious while working in a home shortly after 12:30 p.m., authorities said.
