Most Expensive Homes Sold In Morris County In Last 30 Days
A $2.74 million house tops the list of most expensive homes sold in Morris County in the last 30 days, according to Zillow.
According to Redfin, home prices were up 10.8% compared to last year, in September 2024, selling for a median price of $665,000. On average, homes in Morris County sold after 20 days on the market compared to 21 days last year, Redfin said.
The most expensive homes sold were:
1. 4 Joanna Way, Chatham: Sold on Sept. 23 for $2.74 million.
2. 45 School Ave., Chatham: Sold on Sept. 30 for $2.55 million.

Two-Alarm Fire Closes Morris County Burger King: Authorities
Firefighters battled a whopper of a fire at a Burger King in Morris County on Tuesday, July 2, authorities said.
At 5:15 p.m., firefighters in Madison received multiple 911 calls about a fire at the Burger King on 317 Main St., with flames visible from the roof, the borough said in a release.
Firefighters and EMS responded within minutes, transmitting a second alarm, requesting additional units to fight the blaze, authorities said. Morris County Teacher, Mom Cheryl Granito Dies After Breast Cancer Battle
Cheryl Granito, a teacher in Morris County, died on Sunday, March 10, after battling metastatic breast cancer, according to her obituary.
Born in Toronto, Granito moved to Chatham and grew up in Madison, graduating from Madison High School, her obituary reads.
Graduating from the University of Rhode Island in 1998, she met her husband Mark in 2002, and the two married in 2008 before settling in Denville, according to her obituary.

Colombian Nationals Nabbed After NJ Home Break-In Nets Jewelry, Furs, Cash, More
Three Colombian nationals remain in federal custody and a fourth has already been deported after the government said they stole jewelry, a Rolex, an antique rifle, furs and cash in a home burglary in Union County.
The quartet also took a stamp collection, luxury bags and more after breaking into the Cranford home shortly before 5 p.m. last Nov. 30, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.

Three suspects from Irvington were busted in a spree of attempted car burglaries throughout Madison, local police said.
Officers responded to a report of three suspects trying to break into vehicles near Madison Plaza (300 Main St.) shortly after 4:50 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, Madison Police said.
Officers then found Jaquane Simmons, Raemir Peaks, and Randolph Peaks, all age 20, in the immediate vicinity and matching the suspects’ descriptions, police said.

A 64-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a car that left the scene in Morris County, authorities said.
The female victim was struck on Main Street near Waverly Place in Madison around 5:20 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, local police said in a release.
The victim was taken to Morristown Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

New Snooki Shop Opens On Jersey Shore
Another Snooki store is coming to the Jersey Shore.
The MTV reality star opened her third shop in Seaside Heights on Memorial Day.
Located at 604 Boulevard, the Snooki Shop sells makeup, clothes and memorabilia.
"Wohooo, it’s always a party in our stores," Polizzi posted on Monday, May 30.
