The Salem dad of three young boys was one of 67 people killed when American Airlines Flight 5342 crashed into a Blackhawk helicopter in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Jan. 29. It is the deadliest aviation disaster in the US in more than 15 years. Nick played basketball and football at Lyndhurst High School (Class of 2021), where he was also the vice president of Future Business Leaders of America, his obituary says. Affectionately known as "Nicky Blue," he also served as the coach of Savino's in the township's Little League program, and as a 10U travel coach. Seen Them? Couple Burglarize Hasbrouck Heights Little League Concession Stand Hasbrouck Heights police released images of two burglars who broke into the borough Little League’s concession stand. The couple pried open the door with a crowbar, then took cash and candy, among other items – while causing extensive damage to the door and register -- around 2:40 a.m. last Friday, according to a police report. Surveillance cameras recorded them inside the stand and a car driving off following the break-in. The Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence.
