Motorcyclist, 20, Seriously Hurt In Sussex County Crash: State Police (Update) A 20-year-old motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a Sussex County crash, state police confirmed. The crash occurred on Route 661 northbound near milepost 1.6 in Lafayette just before 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told DailyVoice.com. The victim was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound when he ran off the road and hit a utility pole, suffering serious injuries, Curry said. The 34-year-old Lafayette woman was walking on Gorney Road in Lafayette when she saw the bear just after 4:35 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, NJSP Trooper Brandi Slota told DailyVoice.com. The bear then charged and attacked her, causing injuries to her right arm and the right side of her body, Slota said. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Flames were shooting out of a barn behind 215 North Church Road when firefighters arrived around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The fire quickly climbed to a second alarm as Hardyston companies battled with assistance from Mcafee, Lafayette, Ogdensburg, Franklin, Hamburg, Vernon, Pochuck Valley, Sussex and West Milford. Firefighters stayed at the scene digging up hay until around 1 a.m., to make sure the blaze wouldn't reignite. Glenwood Pochuck EMS and St. Clares EMS also responded, although no injuries were reported.
