Michael Tremblay, 44, has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, Independence Township Police said in a release said on Thursday, May 26. Tremblay, of Petersburg Road in Hackettstown, is a white male with blue eyes and brown hair, police said. He stands six feet four inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. Anyone with information about Tremblay’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Independence Township Police Department at 908-852-4440.

The two-alarm fire broke out at a home on Chaucer Drive in Independence Township shortly after 8:10 p.m., initial reports said. The local first aid squad rushed to the scene and immediately requested backup to provide the full extent of their rescue and rehabilitation services, the squad said. The men were seen near the home's front door area, though nothing has been reported missing or damaged, police said. Hackettstown police responded to an apartment on the 200 block of Main Street on a report of a medical assist on Saturday, Jan. 4 around 6:30 p.m. After confronting a person about having beer inside of the apartment, Nicole Russell, 46, of Mansfield Township, stabbed the victim in the left shoulder with a small pocket knife, police said.
