The U.S. Food and Drug Administration could authorize Pfizer-BioNTech's coronavirus vaccine for children ages 12 to 15 as early as next week, the New York Times reported on Monday, citing federal officials. The timing could not be better for school districts that are resuming in-person instruction and hoping for a full return to normalcy next fall. 2 High Schools In Montgomery County Remote After Students Launch Petition, Staff Sidelined
High schools in Montgomery County will be going all remote following a petition launched by students asking for just that. A Change.org petition was launched earlier this week by high school students after the district announced on Dec. 7 that in-person instruction in the hybrid model would continue through Dec. 22. 19: Half Dozen High School Students Test Positive In Union County
Half a dozen students at a Union County high school have tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the school to go all-remote. The six Westfield students were exposed to the virus outside of school, and none are linked to each other, Westfield Superintendent Margaret Dolan said in an email to parents. The district reopened with a hybrid plan of remote and in-classroom instruction Sept. 10. The high school will go virtual for two weeks and return to its hybrid plan Oct. 1, according to Dolan.
