A historic landmark on the Jersey Shore is no more. The White House Hotel was demolished on Monday, Nov. 13 after a judge ruled development could move forward — and multi-unit luxury townhouses are in the plans. A luxury home developer is partnering with a New York City company to develop a Jersey City condominium community located in an area formerly home to the historic Manischewitz matzo factory and Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company warehouse. Community Looks To Save Historic Madison Movie Theater From Demolition
Concerned community members are looking to put a stop to the demolition of Madison's historic movie theater. Saxum Real Estate, a Parsippany-based company, on Tuesday will present its redevelopment plans the Historic Preservation Commission. The company purchased the theater from Bow Tie Cinemas in February 2017. The commission must approve construction plans -- which include a mix of residential and commercial -- as the theater is designated as a historic building.
