Police: Speeding Driver Threatens Englewood Homeowner
An Englewood resident who signaled a driver racing through the neighborhood to slow down had what looked like a handgun pointed at him, said police who quickly took two teens into custody. The Everett Place resident told police he was cutting his grass Monday afternoon when a dark-colored BMW with New York license plates and "fancy silver rims" came speeding down the street, Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said. Englewood PD: Gunman Caught In Violence-Plagued Neighborhood Blasting House With Paintballs
In a neighborhood plagued by violence, Englewood police chased down a man who they said peppered a house with paintballs from what looked like a genuine weapon. Responding Officer Adolfo Gutierrez spotted 18-year-old Sammuel Castillo running from the Mattlage Place home near Shepard Avenue after the shots were fired from a car that had pulled up there shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday, Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said.
