At 9 p.m., firefighters responded to the 200 block of Center Street in Port Morris on a report of smoke coming from a basement, Roxbury Fire and First Aid Company 2 said.  Upon arrival, an electric scooter was found to be on fire in the basement, firefighters said. Man Masturbates In Front Of Woman At Englewood CVS, Flees On Electric Scooter Authorities sought the public's help identifying a bearded man who masturbated in front of a woman in an Englewood CVS and then fled on an electric scooter. The woman apparently had turned down an aisle when the man exposed himself at the CVS on West Palisades Avenue shortly before 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, Englewood Police Lt. Fred Pulice said. He then ran out a back door to the parking lot during the commotion, got onto an e-bike and fled, the lieutenant said. Scooter Rider Critically Injured In Passaic Crash An electric scooter rider was clinging to life Tuesday morning after being struck in Passaic, responders said. Witnesses said the late-30s victim ran a red light and was struck by a minivan at the intersection of President and Parker Streets shortly after 10:30 a.m. He was unconscious when taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, responders said. The driver, meanwhile, remained at the scene and cooperated with police, who notified the Passaic County prosecutor's fatal accident team. City firefighters and EMS also responded.
