A man was struck and killed by a commuter train Wednesday morning in Hackensack. The Pascack Valley Line train struck the 66-year-old pedestrian at Essex Street and East Railroad Avenue near the Essex Street train station at 9:55 a.m., city Detective Capt. Michael Antista said. UPDATE: An assistant Bergen County prosecutor died of his injuries following a crash at a busy Hackensack intersection late Friday afternoon, authorities confirmed. Car Hit By Train, Driver Extricated In Hackensack
Hackensack firefighters cut a driver from her sedan after it was struck by a commuter train Monday morning. The woman was conscious and alert after the NJ Transit Pascack Valley Line train headed from Spring Valley to Hoboken struck and pushed the Hyundai Sonata at Essex Street off East Railroad Avenue at 8:20 a.m., NJ Transit reported. She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
