A trio from Jersey City couldn’t explain what a stack of mail and other people’s belongings were doing in their car when they were stopped by Elmwood Park police before dawn Friday, authorities said. They also couldn’t name the friend whom they’d supposedly come to the area to visit, Police Chief Michael Foligno said. Two of them ended up in custody. Trick-or-treat Drive-by: Kids, Parents Shot With Air Soft Gun In Elmwood Park Five Elmwood Park kids and two parents out trick-or-treating Sunday night were shot with airsoft pellets from a passing vehicle, authorities said. The attackers emerged from the moon roof and two side windows of a black Nissan that pulled up to the group on Gilbert Avenue between Mola Boulevard and East 54th Street around 8:15 p.m., Police Chief Michael Foligno said.
