: Morris County Tenants Claim Home Gave Young Daughters Lead Poisoning
A Parsippany landlord is being sued by tenants who say he allowed them to live in a house with lead-based paint that poisoned the family’s 2- and 5-year old daughters -- then tried evicting them to avoid accountability, according to a report in the DailyRecord. Elida Rodriguez and Luis Jimenez have been living in a Dover home owned by Efrain and Eda Umanzor of Parsippany for almost 10 years, the report says. An East Orange man who pushed a victim onto the railroad tracks at a Morris County train station while a train was coming has been arrested on assault charges, NJ Transit officials said. A Lake Hiawatha resident told police he was on the platform waiting for a train to Morristown at the Dover station on Dec. 3, 2019, NJ Transit spokesman Paul Milo said. Jason Robert Minahan, a Dover native, died April 21 after a long battle with an illness. He was 40. “With his shock of red hair, blue eyes and big smile, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will remain in our hearts forever,” reads Minahan’s obituary. Minahan graduated from Dover High School in 1998 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of New Jersey, according to his obituary. The body of a Morris County mom was found behind a strip mall in Newark, news reports say. The woman was later identified in a news report by RLS Media as Crystal Sperry, 46, formerly of Dover and Jefferson. East Orange Man Fatally Struck By NJ Transit Train ID'd
An East Orange man was fatally struck by a New Jersey Transit train late Sunday night, NJ Transit officials said. Gregory Brantley, 31, was hit by a Morris & Essex line train just east or the Highland Avenue station in Orange around 11 p.m., according to a New Jersey Transit spokesperson. The New York Penn Station-bound train had left from Dover at 10:05 p.m., and was carrying 28 passengers and crew members. Service was suspended for about 45 minutes.

Prosecutor: Dover Man Gets Decade In Prison For Assaulting Teen, Witness Tampering
A Dover man was sentenced to a decade in state prison for assaulting a 16-year-old and tampering with a witness, authorities said. Levi Young, 20 -- who previously pled guilty to aggravated assault (strangulation), child endangerment and witness tampering -- was sentenced last Friday in Superior Court, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.
