Morris & Essex 6225, which left Penn Station New York shortly before noon, struck the person, described only as a female trespasser, at around 12:30 p.m. at Mountain Station. A female passenger tried swallowing heroin while the male driver wanted by the National Crime Information Center was placed under arrest in a Route 80 motor vehicle stop Wednesday in Parsippany-Troy Hills, authorities said. Police stopped a car on the westbound side of the highway at mile marker 45.6 around 8:15 p.m., when they learned the driver -- Javier Torres, 36 of Dover -- was wanted by the NCIC, New Jersey State Police Lt. Prosecutor: Coworker Catches Morris County Preschool Teacher Sexually Assaulting 3-Year-Old
A Morris County Head Start teacher accused of sexually assaulting a 3-year-old child was being held in the county jail as of Sunday, authorities said. Thomas Meir, 35, of Mount Arlington, was charged with sexual assault and child endangerment after a coworker saw him engaged in the act on Oct. 8, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Community Rallies For Dover Teen's Grieving Family
The community is rallying for the family of a Dover High School student who died a week after being struck by a car leaving a football game. Steven Gomez-Restrepo was in a medically-induced coma at Morristown Medical Center since the Sept. 13 incident on Route 46 in Rockaway. He died Sept. 21 at 15 years old. A Dover high school student is in critical condition after being hit by a car on a highway crossing Route 46 after a football game Friday night, local police say. The 15-year-old boy was heading toward the McDonald's on the westbound side of the highway in Rockaway Borough when he was struck around 9:50 p.m., Police Sgt. Kyle Schwarzmann said. Man Killed By Train In Morristown
A man was fatally struck by a train in Morristown early Friday morning, officials said. Twenty people were on train 6601 of the Morris-Essex line when the man was struck at Convent Station around 2:15 a.m., an NJ Transit spokesperson told Daily Voice. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The train was the last of the night from Penn Station to Dover. Service to the morning trains will not be affected.

A group of underage teens were caught drinking and spray-painting swastikas and derogatory words across Mount Olive last weekend, authorities said. Man Found Dead Near Homeless Campsite In Dover
Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead in Dover Thursday, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. The person, whose identity was not released, was found in a wooded area near the end of West Clinton Street. The cause and manner were pending the results of an autopsy.
