Firefighters Find Furry Friends At Ramsey House Blaze
Firefighters scooped up a trio of dogs during a townhouse blaze in Ramsey. The two-alarm fire ignited in the kitchen of a Windsor Lane home in the Bears Cove development just off Route 17 around 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 5. It was quickly knocked down and placed under control. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were rotated through rehab in the intense 90-degree heat. Firefighters and police teamed up to rescue a dog who was pulled from a smoky house fire Saturday night in Hillsdale. The blaze apparently began in the basement of the home on Deer Trail Road at Ruckman Avenue at the Woodcliff Lake border around 6:30 p.m. May 27. The fire quickly went to two alarms, bringing companies from surrounding towns both to the scene and in coverage. Dog Rescued In Saddle Brook Fire
A house fire was extinguished Wednesday afternoon in Saddle Brook. A dog was rescued as Saddle Brook firefighters doused a basement blaze on Elm Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. April 26. Two people also were reportedly treated for smoke inhalation. Firefighters had it knocked down in well under a half hour and under control 20 minutes or so after that. The most serious damage was confined to the basement of the 2½-story, wood-frame home. The Envigo beagles are on to the next chapter of their lives: The good part. Five male puppies — among the 4,000 dogs rescued from a mass breading facility in Virginia — have been brought to the Monmouth County SPCA for adoption. A Siberian Husky fleeing from noisy fireworks was rescued by Monmouth County Sheriff's Officers off the Jersey Shore. Caiden, a 10-year-old dog, was saved after swimming about a mile and a half off Union Beach, authorities said. Sheriffs' Officers Michael Forgione and Kasey Collins located Caiden and brought him on board in the Raritan Bay, navigating shallow waters to reunite him with his grateful owner. An international dog rescue group that saves dogs from the Chinese meat trade is opening its first U.S. shelter in Jersey City.
