New Jersey's 'Suitcase Killer' Case Debuts As Lifetime Movie This Summer
A New Jersey homicide with Virginia ties will be detailed in a new Lifetime movie, set for release later this year. "Suitcase Killer: The Melanie McGuire Story," premiers June 18. The movie is a retelling of how the mom of two and ex-fertility nurse, of Woodbridge, killed her husband to continue an alleged affair. McGuire was found guilty of using a power saw to cut up her husband, Navy veteran William "Bill" McGuire, and putting his body parts into suitcases. A New Jersey-based political consultant admitted Tuesday that he hired two hitmen to kill a longtime associate from Hudson County who had worked for him on various election campaigns, federal authorities said. Sean Caddle, 44, a former aide to former State Sen. Ray Lesniak (D-Elizabeth) paid the killers -- one from Connecticut, the other from Pennsylvania -- to get rid of Michael Galdieri, the son of former State Sen. Pennsylvania Man Accused Of Attacking Police At Capitol Riot Temporarily Freed
A Manheim Township man accused of attacking a police officer breaking his body cam during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was released from prison while he awaits trial, federal officials said. Michael J. Lopatic, 57, was originally scheduled to have a hearing on whether he should be freed Thursday-- instead on Monday, the hearing was cancelled and he was released, according to court documents. Feds: Second Reputed Mob Associate Admits Role In Jersey Shore Drug Operation
A Toms River man on Thursday became the second reputed associate of the DeCavalcante crime family to take a plea deal from the government in connection with a Jersey Shore drug bust. Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office discovered several ounces of coke during a warranted search of the home of Jason Vella, 39, in September 2019, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said.
