Coach USA Terminates 20 NJ Transit Lines In Filing For Bankruptcy, NJT 'Exploring Every Option'
The pressure is on for NJ Transit. The company was left high and dry when Coach USA announced it would be terminating its agreement with the major transportation company, halting service to 20 of its bus routes in Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic counties come Aug. 16. The decision to do so was made amid Coach USA filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Officials in New York and New Jersey have narrowed down options for a new Port Authority Bus Terminal to three different plans, Politco reported Thursday. The magazine obtained a copy of a planning document prepared by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey outlining the options to revamp or replace what the agency says is the busiest bus terminal in the world. New Jersey commuters are about to see a $2 toll hike on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge starting Sunday. Crossing over to Staten Island will go from $17 to $19, NorthJersey.com reports. Anyone with a New York-issued E-ZPass will pay $12.24 -- that's a 72-cent increase. Go get those NY E-Zpasses!

A winter storm affecting more than 200 million Americans will sweep through the area, bringing accumulating snow and sleet and causing slippery travel conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the entire region from noon Wednesday, Feb. 20 until 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21.
