UPDATE: A drug-addicted Sussex County driver who killed a father, son and gas station attendant in a horrific crash on Route 23 in Wayne two years ago will be sentenced to a minimum of 25½ years without parole after pleading guilty Friday to three counts of aggravated manslaughter, authorities said.

Authorities have identified the 65-year-old man crushed to death by a car in an Essex County driveway early Thursday morning.
Donald Banks was standing in his Pierson Street driveway in Orange when he was hit by Chadane Bailey, 26, sometime around 12:45 a.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, said.

Paterson police seized 1,544 heroin folds, a quarter-pound of crack and cocaine combined and 428 illegal pills while arresting several accused dealers -- one of whom was carrying two stolen guns, authorities said.
Narcotics Division detectives watched Tuesday as Doyan D. McDermott, 37, and Jeffrey Taylor, 39, assisted by Huntier Small, 38, served late-morning and early-afternoon drive-up customers outside their East 29th Street home, city Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.

Central Jersey Man Swallows Heroin, Busted With 49 Folds, Police Say
A Central Jersey man accused of selling heroin swallowed narcotics in an attempt to hide them from police in Flemington, authorities said.
Jesse Chambers, 44, was approached in a vehicle near Park Avenue in front of Steve’s Food Store in Flemington on Sept. 9, borough police said in a release.
Chambers, of Sayreville, was asked to exit the vehicle after officers saw him attempting to conceal narcotics in his mouth, police said.
Officers’ efforts to get Chambers to spit out the drugs were unsuccessful, and he eventually swallowed them, police said.

Four New Jersey residents were arrested for distributing heroin, fentanyl and cocaine following an investigation involving nearly a dozen law enforcement agencies, authorities said Thursday.
Kevin Collins, 37, and Daysha Kelly, 35, operated out of a Pine Beach home, while Elex Hyman, 49, and Jamie Steen, 38, used a Lakewood home, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
