Police responded to a 911 call on Old Chester Road after the husky, Ghost, fell through the ice and was in distress, Chester police said. The two officers, Louis Capone and Sgt. Stephen Notte, crawled onto the ice to save Ghost, using a snare police. Capone fell into the freezing cold water but Sgt. Notte was able to pull both Capone and Ghost out of the water, police said. Officers responded to the Chester Springs Mall parking lot, where the dogs were found locked in a car on August 14, Chester Police said. A follow-up investigation identified the owner as a man from Mendham, police said. His name was not released. The man was charged with animal cruelty and is scheduled to appear in court.

The man — whose identity was not released — was stopped on Colby Farm Road for several violations around 12:30 p.m., Chester Police said. During the stop, the officer “confirmed that he was the same individual from last summer who was issued a summons for soliciting without a permit,” police said. Morris County Man, 36, Jailed On Sexual Assault Charge A Morris County man has been jailed on a sexual assault charge, authorities said.  Jordan Hunt, 36, was arrested April 30 in connection to a sexual assault reported in Morris County in April 2018, a Chester Police representative told Daily Voice. Hunt, of Chester, was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a mandatory appearance in superior court. The victim was provided with additional resources from Chester Police.

Mappen's description in the App Store reads: “SEE WHERE YOUR FRIENDS ARE AND MEET UP. Mappen helps you plan your social life by showing you where friends are and what they’re doing so you can get together.”  The app only shares users' locations with friends, but often asks for access to all contacts to be added as friends.
