Car Crash Knocks Down Power Lines: Chatham PD A car crash caused a power outage in Chatham on Friday, Feb. 2,authorities said. Main Street was closed between Fairmount Avenue and Lafayette Avenue after wires went down following the crash, the Chatham Borough  Police Department said on Facebook.  Power remains out but is expected to be restored within the hour, police said. Police are asking residents avoid the area while they replace the pole, officers said.

The crash occurred on the eastbound side near Lafayette Avenue and Van Doreen Avenue around 3:20 p.m., according to 511NJ. Two of three right lanes were closed, causing minor delays.
