Car Crash Knocks Down Power Lines: Chatham PD
A car crash caused a power outage in Chatham on Friday, Feb. 2,authorities said. Main Street was closed between Fairmount Avenue and Lafayette Avenue after wires went down following the crash, the Chatham Borough Police Department said on Facebook. Power remains out but is expected to be restored within the hour, police said. Police are asking residents avoid the area while they replace the pole, officers said.

Burglar Steals Audi From Driveway After Swiping Car Keys From Morris County Home: Cops
This car theft had nothing to do with car keys being left in the center console of the vehicle, police said. A burglar broke into a Morris County home to get the keys to the Audi S5 in the driveway of the Walnut Street home in Chatham Borough, around 2:25 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, Police Capt. R. Colatrella said in a release. Truck Downs Traffic Pole, Closing Portion Of Rt. 124 In Chatham
A truck crashed into a traffic pole and shut down a portion of Route 124 in Chatham on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 8, police said. The crash occurred on the eastbound side near Lafayette Avenue and Van Doreen Avenue around 3:20 p.m., according to 511NJ. Two of three right lanes were closed, causing minor delays. ACB: Main St (Rt. 124) East at Lafayette Ave will be closed until further notice as a result of a motor vehicle crash and down traffic signal. 'Accidental' Lockdown Activation Brings Police To Morris County Middle School
An "accidental" lockdown activation brought several police officers to a Morris County middle school to investigate, authorities said. Chatham Middle School was testing the district’s 911 alert system when it inadvertently sent a lockdown message to the Morris County 911 Communications Center and prompted an immediate police response around 1:45 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, the department said. Fire crews in Morris County rushed to douse a three-car blaze that nearly spread to a fourth vehicle Tuesday evening. The fire broke out off of North Passaic Avenue in Chatham shortly before 5:30 p.m., according to the Florham Park Police Department and Office of Emergency Management. Chatham and Florham Park fire departments arrived at the scene and confirmed that the blaze had spread to two adjacent cars. Multiple unlocked vehicles were burglarized while they were warming up in Chatham, authorities said Wednesday. A man from Essex County has been charged with harassment after he made vulgar comments in three separate Morris County “bias instances,” police said. The 34-year-old Orange man is first accused of approaching the owner of a home on North Passaic Avenue in Chatham Borough and asking about a room for rent around 11:50 a.m. on April 26, police said.
