A 71-year-old mortuary worker from Saddle Brook pulled a loaded gun on a man during a dispute on a Hackensack street, then ducked into a nearby church to try and ditch the weapon, authorities said. An SUV and a wagon collided at a busy Hackensack intersection on Friday. No serious injuries were immediately reported in the June 30 late-morning crash involving a Honda CRV and a Volvo wagon at Central Avenue and Union Street. Two Hackensack police officers responding to a report of an overnight fight found a city man marking his 24th birthday Tuesday with a loaded handgun stashed under the driver’s seat of his vehicle, authorities said. Hackensack PD: Traffic Light Toppled In Red Light Rollover Crash
A crash caused when a driver ran a red light toppled a traffic light Tuesday morning in Hackensack, authorities said. The 50-year-old Nissan Pathfinder driver from Hackensack was headed south on Summit Avenue when he ignored the red light at Central Avenue, Lt. Anthony Natale said. The 2007 Pathfinder collided with a 2020 Hyundai Sonata at the intersection and rolled onto its roof, knocking down the light pole, he said. An SUV collided with a sedan and then toppled a utility pole outside a Hackensack church on Thursday.
