A 31-year-old Wayne man was identified as the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Parsippany before fleeing the scene and then trying to flee the country last month, authorities said. Davut Batca was behind the wheel of a Toyota RAV4 when he struck Jelson Cabrera, 35, of Trenton, on Route 46 West near Sandra Drive just before 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said. Morris County Man Struck, Killed By Car In West Milford
A 73-year-old man was struck and killed by a car early Tuesday, Sept. 10 in West Milford, authorities said. Mod A. Khader, of Lincoln Park, was trying to cross Route 23 south when he was struck by a vehicle around 6 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes West Milford Police Chief James DeVore said. Khader was taken to Chilton Hospital where he died at 8:40 a.m. The vehicle that struck Khader remained at the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.

A 56-year-old Parsippany man was killed after his motorcycle collided with a Mercedes Benz on County Route 650 in Sussex County on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 8, authorities said. At 10:20 a.m., Sung Yi was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound when it crashed into a Mercedes Benz at the intersection of County Route 650 and County Route 675 in Montague Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. One person was hospitalized in a rollover crash on Route 287 Wednesday morning, Sept. 4, authorities said. A motorist was heading south when the driver lost control, struck a guardrail, and overturned near milepost 61.4 in Franklin Lakes just before 10 a.m., a spokesperson for New Jersey State Police said. A truck collied with three passenger vehicles on Route 80 in Morris County on the morning of Monday, Aug. 19, authorities said. The crash occurred at 7:24 a.m. on Route 80 westbound in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township between a box truck and three passenger vehicles, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Multiple injuries were reported, though they were non-life-threatening, Marchan said. The crash remains under investigation, Marchan said.
