Animal rights organization PETA is calling for an investigation into a Central Jersey slaughterhouse after an employee was accused of hitting a lamb with a crowbar. On Sept. 8, a federal inspector saw the employee at Carteret Abattoir in Carteret hit the lamb on the back with a crowbar while driving the animals into pens, according to a report by the USDA. A dog used to help comfort COVID-19 patients died suddenly while onboard Southwest Airlines, according to the Pennsylvania dog owner's attorney. The x-ray technician only identified as Courtney claims her 3-year-old French bulldog died during a Southwest Airlines flight on Dec. 21, her attorney Evan Oshan said in an email to Daily Voice. : Vernon PD Releases Body Cam Footage Of Officer Fatally Shooting Dog
The Vernon Police Department has released body camera footage of a police officer that shot a loose dog. A neighbor can be heard telling Officer Rivera a local dog, "Hiro," had been running around loose for four or five hours Saturday afternoon. The neighbor told Rivera he tried giving the "rabid" dog water when it attacked him. Footage moments later shows Hiro barking and running toward the officer.
