Four people were arrested and one is still at large after crashing a stolen BMW on Route 287 and fleeing from police, prompting a search that lasted several hours, authorities said. Police in Lincoln Township attempted to stop a stolen black BMW 750 on Route 202 around 9:20 a.m. Sunday, July 9. Two men from Florida were jailed after crashing their vehicle and fleeing from police in Morris County Thursday, May 11, police said. It all went around 8:40 a.m. as Montville Township Police Sgt. Blustein saw a black Chevy Blazer driving on Main Road in Towaco that was sought for a crash in Lincoln Park, Chief Andrew Caggiano said in a release. The Blazer sped away on Main Road, passing by several other vehicles before crashing near the intersection of Valhalla and Main Road and landing on the lawn of a nearby home, police said. Five suspects were arrested following a high-speed chase with a stolen Porsche on Route 287 in Morris County, authorities announced on Friday, Sept. 9. Officers responded to several reports of a suspicious Porsche Cayenne whose occupants were trying to steal vehicles from driveways near Quarry Mountain Road and Turkey Hill Road in Montville Township around 5:40 a.m., Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Two East Orange men attempting to steal a BMW in Morris County early Saturday morning were caught in the act, police said. Miles Cotton, 18, and Talazhue E. Bennett, 20, were seen by a resident on Brittany Road in Montville attempting to steal a 2018 BMW around 3:10 a.m. Saturday, township police Chief Andrew Caggiano said.
