Motorcyclist Ejected As Acura Hits Construction Truck, Scatters Debris Across Rt. 80: Update

A motorcyclist was ejected and hospitalized during a chain-reaction crash involving an Acura and a closure truck in a construction zone on Route 80 Thursday, April 20, state police said.

The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes near milepost 47.2 in Parsippany just after 12:45 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice.

According to Curry, an Acura hit the back of a crash truck that was being used to close a left construction lane.

The debris from the initial impact scattered into the center lane and was struck by a motorcyclist, who was then ejected, Curry said.

The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The Acura driver was evaluated at the scene and refused additional medical attention.
