Police have released details of a crash over the weekend in Jamesburg that they said left a speeding driver from Union County dead. Jamesburg police responded to Forsgate Drive at Buckelew Avenue around 1:16 a.m. on Sunday, May 10 for a reported crash, according to a release from Chief Jason Muller. Responding officers found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames with the driver trapped inside, Jamesburg police said. A New Jersey man is accused of driving drunk with a child in his vehicle after being stopped for speeding on Interstate 87 in Westchester County, NY, police said. The arrest happened after an incident at around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, when troopers saw a 2025 Mazda CX-9 speeding northbound on I-87 and pulled it over in Ardsley, according to New York State Police. EHT Man Speeding When He Struck, Killed 13-Year-Old: Prosecutor
A 71-year-old Egg Harbor Township man was charged with vehicular homicide after he struck and killed a 13-year-old Pleasantville boy, authorities announced Tuesday, Aug. 26. On Saturday, May 17 at 2:20 p.m., Gary Battisti struck a 13-year-old boy while driving on Delaware Avenue in Egg Harbor Township, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said. The 13-year-old, who was not identified, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. Battisti was traveling at an excessive speed at the time of the crash, authorities said.
